I'm a cross-disciplinary IP professional based in India, working remotely with clients worldwide. My path into patents is unusual, and that is the point: I came to this work through commerce, law and teaching rather than a single technical degree, which means I read a matter from three angles at once.
For more than twelve years I taught corporate law, industrial law, business law and statutory drafting to CA, CS and CMA aspirants. Alongside a law qualification, a Company Secretary professional background with an IPR elective, and an MBA in progress, that teaching habit shaped how I work now — break a problem into its elements, explain the reasoning, and document every step so someone else can follow it.
That produces a rare bridge: I can read a patent like a lawyer, structure a prior-art comparison like an analyst, and weigh commercial and licensing potential like a businessperson. For commerce-driven IP — business methods, fintech, e-commerce, agritech, consumer products, services-industry and traditional-knowledge matters — that background is a direct fit, not a stretch.

Honest about where I'm strongest — and how I handle the rest
Commerce-driven domains are home ground. For technology-heavy fields — semiconductors, AI, telecom, pharma, biotech, energy, materials — I don't pretend to be a domain PhD. Instead I've built a structured, 200-page bilingual reference covering patent-grade scientific literacy across ten domains, and I keep deepening it through real searches.
In practice that means I scope deep-tech matters honestly: I'll tell you up front where I can deliver full value, and where a matter needs a subject-matter specialist, so you're never paying for a search that's out of its depth.
I am preparing for the Indian Patent Agent (CGPDTM) examination but have not yet sat for it. So I do not act as a registered agent or give legal advice anywhere. My work is patent-search analyst, IP research, technical patent analysis, landscape and commercialisation support — roles that don't require agent registration in your jurisdiction. I'd rather tell you this on the About page than have you wonder.

Document everything
Every search ships with a reproducible strategy log. If you can't trace how art was found, you can't defend it — so I make that traceable by default.
Say the hard thing
I flag stretch reads, scope limits and "this needs a specialist" honestly. A search partner who only ever tells you good news isn't useful.
Treat confidentiality as sacred
NDA first, conflicts cleared, matters siloed. Invention disclosures and asserted-patent details are never reused across clients.
